Yoga Therapy Appointment

Lisa has completed her two years of study of Yoga Therapy at The School of Embodied Yoga Therapy in Ottawa and is accepting clients to complete her 210 hour practicum.

What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy is a mind-body practice that uses yoga techniques, including movement, mindfulness, meditation, relaxation, and breathing exercises, to address physical, emotional, and mental health concerns, aiming to manage underlying conditions or symptoms in addition to conventional treatments.

  • Yoga therapy can be used to address a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, anxiety, depression, stress, and certain physical ailments.
  • Yoga therapy is often used as a complementary treatment alongside conventional medical interventions, rather than as a replacement for them.
  • Presently defined by the International Association of Yoga Therapist's, “Yoga therapy is the professional application of the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and well-being within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalized assessment, goal setting, lifestyle management, and yoga practices for individuals or small groups."
